Diesel Mechanic ASE Certified

Details: Diesel Mechanic with ASE Certification is needed for a 3-4 month assignment. CDL-B license is required. Will diagnose, make repairs and maintain a fleet of diesel trucks.• Test drive vehicles to diagnose problems and after repairs are made to ensure vehicle is running properly•Read and interpret diagnostic test results, often by using dials, gauges, and other computer equipment•Inspect brake systems, steering system, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles•Repair and/or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical equipment•Perform routine maintenance: changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts•Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system component•Able to follow checklist of inspection/diagnostic procedures•Able to use computerized diagnostic tools•ASE Certification•At least 2 years of experience•CDL-B License is REQUIRED•HS Diploma or equivalent•Must have own toolsManpower is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE/AA)

Details: Diesel Engine Mechanic (Heavy Duty Mechanic)We are seeking highly adaptive and skilled professionals to assume the role of Heavy Duty Mechanic. The roleHeavy Duty Mechanics perform major and minor repairs, overhauls and servicing Locomotive engines, vehicle attachments and material handling equipment. Critical performance areas include:• Inspecting, servicing and maintaining locomotives, vehicles and equipment in accordance with federal and company regulations, including changing oil or repairing, replacing, cleaning and adjusting parts;• Diagnosing diesel engine malfunctions and making required repairs;• Assembling and starting engines;• Using electric and oxy-acetylene welding equipment, lubrication equipment and other vehicle repair tools and equipment, and operating said tools and machinery in a safe and effective manner;• Repairing various work equipment machinery;• Preparing inspection, maintenance, and work reports, and recording details on prescribed forms in accordance with established procedures;• Providing hi-rail servicing and installations.
