Atkins seeks an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our Security & Planning Division in Atlanta as a Security System Designer. This is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate. This person performs routine engineering work while developing professional proficiency. On design assignments, works to learn how to clearly convey the design intent through engineering drawings and specifications. On assisgnments involving investigations and planning, works to learn the fundamentals of engineering processes and to apply them successfully to operating systems. Typical duties and responsibilities of this position are:Research and design new and replacement communications systems.Design and specify the installation of networked CCTV systems; including CCTV video IP-networking protocols, coding protocols, storage solutions, and Video Management Systems.Design basic Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Intercom and Fire Alarm systems.Interface with and assist clients with technical and contract management issues including those that may be raised by regulatory agencies.Witness tests and review reports as client representative to verify operation of new systems per design specifications.Generate technical studies and design specificationsPresent project information to clients, engineers and other management personnel.
